1. The agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and Roocast for using roocast.com and its related services (“Roocast”). By creating an account or using Roocast, you agree to them. If you use Roocast for a business, you confirm you can accept these terms on its behalf.
You must be at least 18 years old to use Roocast.
2. What Roocast does
Roocast writes scripts, records voiceovers, adds visuals, captions and music, renders videos, and can post them to accounts you connect. We may add, change or remove features over time. We'll give notice before removing anything significant that you pay for.
3. Your account
Keep your email account secure, because anyone who can open your sign-in links can use your Roocast account. You're responsible for activity on your account. Tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else has access.
4. Plans, minutes and payment
- Plans give you a number of minutes of finished video each month. New accounts get 3 free minutes, once.
- Each video uses its length, rounded up to the next 15 seconds. Premium voices use minutes faster, as shown before you start a batch.
- Minutes for videos that fail are returned automatically.
- Plan minutes reset at each renewal and don't roll over. Top-up minutes don't expire while your account is open.
- Prices are in naira. Payments are processed by Paystack, and other currencies are converted at checkout.
- Subscriptions renew monthly until you cancel. You can turn off renewal on the billing page and keep your plan until the end of the period you've paid for.
- Payments are non-refundable except where the law requires or we say otherwise. If something went wrong, email [email protected] and we'll look at it.
- We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice. Changes apply from your next renewal.
5. Your content and the videos you make
You own what you put into Roocast (topics, scripts, photos, logos) and, as between you and us, the videos Roocast makes for you. You can use them for personal and commercial purposes, including monetised channels and ads.
You give us permission to store, process and transmit your content only as needed to run Roocast for you, for example to render videos, show them in your library and post them where you ask.
Music, stock footage and voices included in your videos are licensed to us for this use. You may use them as part of the videos Roocast makes, but not extract them to use separately. Free-plan videos include a Roocast watermark.
Generated scripts and images can contain mistakes. Check your videos before you publish them, especially facts, names, prices and claims. You are responsible for what you publish.
6. What you can't do
Don't use Roocast to create or post content that:
- infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights, including uploading photos or logos you don't have the right to use;
- is illegal, defamatory, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, or exploits or endangers children;
- impersonates a real person or organisation, or presents fabricated events as real news;
- is misleading advertising, including false prices, offers or health and financial claims;
- is spam, or breaks the rules of the platform you post it to.
Also don't try to break, overload or reverse engineer Roocast, get around usage limits, resell access without our permission, or use it to build a competing product. We may remove content and suspend accounts that break these rules.
7. Connected social accounts
When you connect YouTube, TikTok, Instagram or Facebook, you authorise Roocast to post the videos you choose to that account. Each platform's own terms apply to what you post there, and each platform may limit, delay or remove posts. We aren't responsible for a platform's decisions or outages.
Roocast uses YouTube API Services. By connecting YouTube, you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle data from connected accounts.
8. Storage and deletion
Finished videos are kept for 30 days on the Free plan and 90 days on paid plans, then deleted. We email you a week before. Roocast isn't a backup service, so download anything you want to keep.
9. Ending the agreement
You can stop using Roocast and ask us to close your account at any time by emailing [email protected]. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put the service or other users at risk. Where reasonable, we'll tell you first. When an account closes, unused minutes are lost and your content is deleted as described in our Privacy Policy.
10. Disclaimers
We work hard to keep Roocast reliable, but it's provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, that generated content will be accurate, or that videos will reach a particular audience or result.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Roocast isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, revenue, data or followers. Our total liability for any claim relating to Roocast is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.
12. Indemnity
If someone brings a claim against us because of content you created or published with Roocast, or because you broke these terms, you agree to cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Before going to court, please email [email protected] so we can try to resolve the problem. If we can't, the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria will hear the dispute, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it locally.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For significant changes we'll email you at least 14 days before they take effect. If you keep using Roocast after that, the new terms apply; if you don't agree, you can close your account.
