  SxSW 2006 & The Aussie Assault - Part 4 By: Roocast Day 4 - the evening showcases are in full swing, including local acts Shifter and The Living End. It's all about the music. Austrade's efforts in pre event promotion ensure the right people are at the Australian Acts showcase performances. Shifter's private showcase is aiming to garner major label interest. The Living End (whom already have a strong US fanbase) are shopping for a label for their latest release, and that elusive "break" into the US market. In conjunction with the Music Managers Forum and VIC Music, the organisers of SxSW held a 'roadshow' at the Corner Hotel in Melbourne in early August. The evening was a six month 'heads up' to artists, managers, labels and music business professionals who either plan to attend SxSW March 14-18 2007 or bands who wish to apply to showcase at the event.
